The 18th A400M arrives, with all-new capabilities

(B2) A new A400M Atlas transport aircraft was received in Seville (Spain) on Wednesday (March 24) by the Directorate General for Armaments.

It is the 18th in the series. But for France, this is the first A400M equipped from the outset with the two new capacities certified in May 2020 by the DGA and its counterparts in the six other partner countries of the program. The first is the possibility of dropping up to 58 paratroopers through the two side doors of the aircraft simultaneously. The second is the ability to follow terrain at very low altitude in automatic mode under visual flight conditions, " a world first for a transport aircraft we say proudly to the DGA.

The device must be delivered to the Air and Space Force in the coming days.
