The Belgian frigate Leopold I joins the Charles de Gaulle

(B2) The frigate Léopold I (F-930), under the command of frigate captain Nico Cottyn, has been heading for the Mediterranean Sea since Sunday 23 (February). Mission: to integrate the 2020 carrier battle group formed around the French nuclear aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle (the Foch mission).

The Belgian frigate, with 150 crew members on board and an Alouette III helicopter on board, will conduct various exercises. Objective : " maintain and develop the skills necessary for engagement across the full spectrum of maritime operations ". Expected end of mission: April 24 with the ship's return to the port of Zeebrugge.
