Greek oil tanker attacked by pirates in Cameroon waters

(B2) A Greek oil tanker was attacked by pirates in Cameroonian waters at the end of December. Eight sailors were kidnapped

The 'Happy Lady' which flies the Greek flag was at anchor 2 nautical miles (about 3,7 km) away in the port of Limbe, one of Cameroon's main ports, when pirates appeared in the early morning. Eight sailors (five Greeks, one Ukrainian and two Filipinos) were kidnapped. The other 20 crew members were left on the tanker. But a mechanic, of Greek nationality, was injured in the incident and transferred to a hospital, according to a communicated released Tuesday by the Greek Ministry of Maritime Transport.
