Greek oil tanker attacked by pirates in Cameroon waters

(B2) A Greek oil tanker was attacked by pirates in Cameroonian waters at the end of December. Eight sailors were kidnapped

The 'Happy Lady' which flies the Greek flag was anchored 2 nautical miles (approximately 3,7 km) in the port of Limbé, one of the main ports of Cameroon, when pirates appeared in the early morning. Eight sailors (five Greeks, one Ukrainian and two Filipinos) were kidnapped. The remaining 20 crew members were left on the tanker. But a mechanic, of Greek nationality, was injured during the incident and transferred to a hospital, according to a communicated released Tuesday by the Greek Ministry of Maritime Transport.
