EU Mission in Kyiv (EUAM) bets on free and fair elections in Ukraine
(B2) A few days before the first round of the presidential election, scheduled for March 31, 2019, 250 police officers have been trained to identify and react to violations of electoral law
The training took place in ten sessions, which began at the beginning of March. They were provided by the Ukrainian NGO OPORA active in the field of public supervision and electoral transparency. An NGO supported by the EU Internal Security Force Advisory Mission in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).
This training is actually the second of its kind for the police in electoral legislation (see: Latest news from EU peacekeeping missions – CSDP (January 2019)). A total of 625 Ukrainian police officers have been trained with the support of EUAM Ukraine in the Odessa region.
