The delivery of the materials was accompanied by several additional training actions on the theme of document fraud by “border” advisers and trainers, as well as weekly on-site support. In 2019, these actions should continue with the implementation of the first diploma training course for document fraud analysts (AFD).

“Thanks to these devices equipped with very sophisticated software, we can detect not only fake passports but also fake visas” confirms the main border police commissioner (PAF) at Bamako airport. “If we look at the statistics, we can see that since 2016 the number of people who use false documents has decreased remarkably. »

A point that the EU mission present on the spot is delighted with, EUCAP Sahel Mali, in charge of training and assisting the Malian internal security forces: " this has a significant impact in all European airports ". The objective is indeed not only to improve airport security in Bamako but also to fight against irregular immigration to Europe.
