121 organizations present at the 7th SHADE MED in Rome

For its seventh edition, the objective of SHADE MED (Shared Awareness and De-confliction in the Mediterranean Sea) has remained the same since the beginning of this forum which brings together the main maritime players present at sea: the challenges of effective collaboration in the Mediterranean.

Hosted at the Francesco Baracca naval base in Rome, the forum brought together, according to official figures, 189 participants from 37 countries. A total of 121 organisations, European agencies and other maritime professionals working for maritime security in the central Mediterranean were present.

On the menu: the exchange of experiences and the coordination of their respective activities in the face of the migration phenomenon in the Mediterranean Sea. " EUNAVFOR Med has contributed to an 83% reduction in migratory flows in the Central Mediterranean during the year 2018 reminded the commander of the operation, Admiral Enrico Credendino.
