Shooting in the center of Strasbourg. Several dead and wounded (V4)

According to the first elements communicated by the prefecture (at 22:20 p.m.), the individual entered the perimeter of the Christmas market by the Raven bridge, heading towards the rue des Orfèvres. He begins to open fire, wounding several people. The man exchanges fire with a Sentinel patrol, he wounds a soldier (slightly) and is also wounded. But he managed to escape.

The report given by the Grand Est prefecture first reports one, then two deaths. It was reassessed several times, and settled (lastly) at three dead and 13 injured (8 seriously injured and 5 slightly injured). Several injured are very seriously affected, this assessment could therefore increase.

Shots meant to kill

Parliament closed for security, European solidarity

A man followed

The shooter (Chérif C.) is on file S (State Security) and registered in the report file for the prevention of terrorist radicalization (FSPRT). Born in Strasbourg, he is 29 years old and lives on the outskirts of Strasbourg.
