Frontex strengthens its surveillance at Croatia's borders

(B2) A Frontex surveillance aircraft has started to monitor the EU's external borders in the Balkans as part of what is called “Multipurpose Aerial Surveillance” (or MASA). A tailor-made response, mid-July, to the request of the Croatian authorities for the monitoring of migratory flows.

The plane uses new technical equipment from the agency. The videos and other information collected are sent directly to the Frontex Location Center (FSC) located at the Agency's headquarters in Warsaw, specifies theagency. There, a team of experts analyzes the information and provides feedback to the authorities concerned. The aircraft is expected to perform 100 hours of aerial surveillance per month.
