An Italian Canadair to the rescue for the forest fires in the South

(B2) After calling for helpIn France, yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 25 July), faced with forest fires in Provence and Corsica, the European Commission immediately mobilized an Italian unit as part of the EU civil protection mechanism.

The Italian Canadair intervened on Tuesday afternoon. He carried out 22 releases of water during the 2h20 flight to fight against the fire at Biguglia in Corsica, according to an initial assessment drawn up by the European Commission. An Italian plane is this Wednesday (July 26), in intervention in the Var (83) and Bouches-du-Rhône (13).
