Failed attack attempt by pirates near Yemen

(B2) A merchant vessel reported being followed by a suspicious skiff on February 12 at 5:30 UTC, near the town of Haswayn in Yemen (latitude 15.06.57 North and 052.28.85 East). The skiff with 6 armed people on board approached from the port side and then passed forward on the starboard side. An RPG rocket launcher was sighted.

The pursued vessel then triggered the alarm, increased speed and activated the water channels. The security team also fired warning shots, the pirate skiff then "altered course" and moved away, according to maritime sources.
