(B2) Here is the famous CETA agreement (trade and global economy) which will be signed between the EU and Canada and its various corollaries.

The Canadian Prime Minister arrived two hours late in Brussels. A technical problem on the plane that brought him to Brussels... or a diplomatic breakdown?

The text of the CETA agreement can be downloaded here: en French / english

as well as the common interpretative instrument: in French / english

and set of statements interpretative — including 36, 37 and 38 resulting from the latest negotiations between Wallonia, Belgium and the European Commission (French)

Comment: In a rather original way, only the English text was distributed by the press service of the Council while the French text does indeed exist... The proof! It is unfortunately becoming a habit of the European institutions (Commission, Council of the EU and EEAS) to communicate only in English (at least the most complex texts) and not in the two or three working languages. The pretext often given is that of the impossibility of translation in a short time. This is sometimes true but often false. In reality, this reflects a real desire on the part of certain members of the European institution to favor a single working language – English – and not to distribute the text in French! A simple search in the database proves it...
