The British train the Tunisians to better monitor their borders

(B2) A team of around 40 British military personnel have arrived in Tunisia to provide short-term training to help counter illegal cross-border movement, particularly from neighboring Libya, the British Foreign Office has confirmed. The training, led by the 4th Infantry Brigade, involves both theoretical and practical exercises on operational planning, intelligence and surveillance, mobile patrols. EAbout 200 people should benefit from it in different bases of the Tunisian army.

After the attack in Sousse which claimed many British victims (read: Many Europeans killed in the attack in Sousse in Tunisia), London has decided to strengthen its cooperation with Tunisia. Michael Fallon, the Minister of Defense repeated it, following this announcement: " We are determined to support our Tunisian allies to defend themselves against Daesh terrorists. (...) Our training will help Tunisian forces strengthen their border security and stop the spread of Daesh along the coast. » NB: c'is the third part of the training provided as part of this British commitment: a first part took place at the end of 2015, a second in February 2016. They made it possible – according to the British – to strengthen the capacities of the 1st Tunisian Brigade of the border security.
