Euretex 2016, to test engineering interoperability

(B2) 400 soldiers gathered for the exercise Euretex 2016 of the Eurocorps which has just taken place from September 22 to 28 at the Valdahon military camp.

Coming from six European countries, French, German, Belgian, Luxembourg, Spanish and Polish engineering units worked jointly to test and improve interoperability and cooperation. An undeclared objective: prepare to be deployed in the field. On the program: detection of improvised explosive devices — with the intervention of an EOD unit (neutralization, removal, destruction of explosives), the fight against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) threats, the opening of buildings and trapped routes, and a wet break crossing operation.

An interesting point: the presence of American soldiers. 40 soldiers of theU.S. Army took part in all exercises and manoeuvres, with the aim of developing tactical cooperation between European units and the overseas partner.
