(B2) The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) arrested near the Polish border, in western Ukraine, a Frenchman suspected of having planned a series of terrorist attacks in France before and during the Championship of Europe 2016. The arrest took place at the end of May. But the information was not communicated by the SBU than this Monday (June 6). Not a little proud Ukrainian services have posted a video where we see the man preparing his equipment.

A veritable arsenal

The man had a veritable arsenal: five Kalashnikov rifles with 1080 cartridges for each weapon, two RPG-7 anti-tank grenade launchers, 125 kilograms of TNT explosive, 120 Balaklava electric detonators.

An individual spotted in December

Last December, the Ukrainian intelligence (SBU) spotted this French citizen who, in the east of Ukraine " was trying to establish contact with Ukrainian soldiers offering his volunteer help. He returned to Ukraine in April and was checked by Ukrainian services testing weapons and explosives.

A right-wing extremist?

According to information released by Ukrainian security, the man's motivations stem more from hostility to Islam and emigration than those of a Frenchman converted to Islamism. The Frenchman spoke in negative terms of the French government's massive emigration policy, the spread of Islam and the globalization of the world ". He also said " the desire to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in protest ».
