Abkhazia-Georgia. Talks resume in Gali

(BRUSSELS2) An extraordinary meeting of the Incident Response and Prevention Mechanism (IPRM) was held on Friday (27 May) in Gali. This is the first meeting of this response mechanism for 4 years. Most of the meeting was devoted to the deadly incident in Khurcha a week ago (Read: Tensions in Georgia. One dead on the demarcation line with Abkhazia). The discussion took place in a constructive and engaged atmosphere underlines the head of the European observer mission, Kęstutis Jankauskas (EUMM Georgia). Everyone agreed to further investigate this tragic incident ". In particular, it is a question of sharing more information through the Hotline. A new meeting of the IPRM mechanism in Gali is already scheduled for July 6th.
