Major IED manufacturing site destroyed in Iraq

This former industrial site located in the Al Qaim region had been transformed into a manufacturing center for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and suicide vehicles. On April 29, a patrol of 4 Mirage 2000Ds and two patrols of 2 Rafales carried out a first raid. The same site was struck again the next day, April 30, by a new patrol of 4 Mirage 2000Ds and two patrols of 2 Rafale.

Between April 27 and May 3, 2016, the Chammal force carried out a total of 50 sorties, including 40 for bombardments and 9 for intelligence gathering. A total of 15 strikes were carried out, destroying 43 targets of the Islamic State organization (Daesh / ISIL). In addition to the bombardment of the industrial site, 13 ground support strikes in support of the Iraqi security forces were carried out, " in the areas of Hit, Fallujah and Mosul ».
