The Hungarian army mobilizes its helicopters to monitor the border with Serbia

(B2) The Hungarian government has decided to send reinforcements to its southern border with Serbia. Since last Wednesday (February 24), the army has deployed helicopters at five points near the border, between Szeged (Hungary) and Sobatica (Serbia): in Mórahalom, Ásotthalom, Domaszék, Kelebia and Röszke (see map) .

The number of personnel serving along the border has also been increased significantly "and deployed armored vehicles" along threatened border sections to support border guard patrols, the Ministry of Defense said. The tone used in Budapest leaves no doubt about the perceived seriousness of the threat. " The Hungarian government is committed to protecting the borders of the Schengen area, and does its best to preserve the safety of Hungarian citizens ". (NGV)
