910 migrants recovered in the Mediterranean

(B2) Nearly 910 migrants were rescued this Saturday (March 19) off the coast of Libya. 420 migrants were picked up by the Spanish frigate Numancia. And 20 others by the German corvette Ludwigshafen. They were 30 nautical miles offshore in a wooden ship from Sabratah. We thus see again off the Libyan coast wooden ships which had been used less recently.

112 other migrants were rescued by the Frontex ship Siem Pilot. While the ship Diciotti (CP941) of the Italian Coast Guard recovered 378 migrants during two other rescue operations: 132 migrants from a first boat and 246 others from a wooden ship, including 50 women and a minor. They also recovered a deceased body.

The Siem Pilot disembarked the 700 refugees it had on board in Palermo.
