(B2) Nearly 727 migrants have been rescued in recent hours in the Mediterranean by ships participating in the European operation EUNAVFOR Med / Sophia. The Slovenian SNS Triglav 11 (*) and British HMS Enterprise were first called Wednesday (October 28), in the wee hours of the morning, for a wooden boat in distress. A few hours later, it was the turn of the British frigate HMS Richmond (*) and the German support ship FGS Berlin (*) to intervene for the rescue of several rubber boats. The migrants were picked up on board the ships before being transferred to the Norwegian vessel, Siem Pilot, which is taking part in Frontex's European civilian operation Triton. This finally landed this Friday (October 30) in the port of Reggio Calabria, 824 migrants, including 603 men, 141 women and 80 children, of different nationalities, according to the Ansa agency.
