The EU condemns the coup in Burkina Faso

" The sequestration of the President of the transition as well as other ministers, jeopardizes the Transition and the way towards the elections of next October 11 she says. " Any attempt to oust the authorities of the Transition by force or action against the peace and security of the country have been condemned by the entire International Community. ". And the EU calls for the immediate release of those detained and for respect for the Transition and the general interest ».

Release and respect of the electoral calendar

No French intervention except for evacuation

The French army which has a contingent of about 200 men on the spot - especially special forces - as part of the anti-terrorist operation Barkhane, does not intend to intervene in this conflict, indicated François Hollande this morning.
