213 migrants saved by the Godetia

(B2) The Belgian ship Godetia saved, Tuesday, June 9, 213 additional migrants in the Mediterranean, indicates a press release from the Belgian army. Among them, 45 women and 87 children, the youngest of whom was barely 40 days old. The rescue operation lasted about an hour. The Godetia then handed over the migrants' boat to the Italians for further inspection. And the ship headed to an Italian port to transfer the migrants to the Italian authorities. THE Godetia was sent to the Mediterranean as part of Operation Triton to rescue refugees and reinforce the efforts of the Italian and Maltese navy off the Libyan coast. (NGV)
