In Bangui, the Unit bridge is open

(BRUSSELS2) The Italian genius has finished installing the steel bridge, donated by the Czech Republic, in the capital Bangui. The "Bridge of Unity" (1) was inaugurated on Thursday (January 29).

Concretely, this bridge will ensure better communication between three districts of the Central African capital. Previously a simple footbridge only allowed the circulation of pedestrians and motorcycles. And, again, in a limited way because this narrow gateway. The new bridge, modern, wider, will allow the circulation of vehicles.

More generally, the bridge will allow different communities to have more exchanges. « Reunite two once rivaling areas, Restore freedom of movement and economic activities is for the European Union stabilization mission (EUFOR RCA) deployed in the capital one of the main lines of action. The objective of the various troublemaking groups is, in fact, to limit circulation as much as possible, between the various districts, in order to arouse the fear of the inhabitants, hostility against "the other", as well as to reduce the police intervention.
