B2's life

B2 throws his quezako

Quezako subtitle Blue

(BRUXELLES2) B2 is opening a new "section" on 10 December, the Quezako, intended to supplement information on political Europe, the common foreign and security policy (CFSP) and the common security and defense policy (CSDP). This date is not due to chance alone. It corresponds to the anniversary of the Maastricht European Council, which launched "political Europe", 23 years ago.

“Between the European Union, which has developed a Common European Security and Defense Policy (CSDP), the Atlantic Alliance and the various European states, it is sometimes difficult to disentangle who does what and how? The authors wanted to answer these questions, drawing on their experience, in a precise but educational way. They have designed a book which, beyond the polemics, identifies the policies, but also wants to be a practical guide, a reference document, which reveals the facets of a complex world. Supported by words, maps, figures, documents, references. »

A permanent, evolving collection

Using the best of the Internet — immediate availability, rapid updating and correction, interactivity with readers —, Le Quezako functions as a series of memo cards, which can be read from start to finish, "picked up" on one or two particular subjects or serve as a reminder or additional information. About fifty are already available. Others will follow to quickly reach the first objective of a hundred files, or even more.A veritable online encyclopedia!

Discover CFSP and CSDP step by step

The objective is to explain and make people discover what constitutes, in our opinion, one of the most innovative policies, and the most risky, of the European Union put in place in recent years. All subjects are (will be) covered: European diplomacy, operations to maintain peace or strengthen the rule of law, sanctions taken against other States, European defense resources, European institutions and structures, officials and procedures, without forgetting historical reminders...

Revolutionizing European information

Halfway between the journalistic and encyclopaedic approach, the Quezako fills a void in European information. It responds to a double observation. On the one hand, an ignorance, sometimes rather "crass" (let's face it!), among certain political leaders, including at high level, even very European, who have missed out on developments over the past 15 years in this area of politics European. On the other hand, the absence of an up-to-date work describing, step by step, the different elements of this policy.

Without concessions and without prejudice

The approach remains voluntarily journalistic. True to what made the success of the "Bruxelles2" blog (see our: editorial slant, our tone is uncompromising, for certain mistakes or weaknesses, but also without prejudice. We want to avoid sinking into criticism for criticism's sake or into Euro-pessimism. And our ambition is also to highlight certain "success stories" that are sometimes, paradoxically, passed over in silence, even by the European authorities.

Educational and explanatory

The sheets are as complete and concrete as possible, designed in an educational and explanatory way, so that they can be read and understood by everyone. The Quezako is addressed, in fact, to all — whether they are directly interested in this policy — students, researchers, professors, European Union officials, competition candidates, MPs — committed or simply curious citizens. The cost of access has therefore been calculated as accurately as possible to allow this access to all.
