French EUFOR RCA soldier dies of illness

(BRUSSELS2) The European military operation deployed in the Central African Republic (EUFOR RCA) is in mourning. One of the French soldiers, from the 126th infantry regiment (RI) of Brive la Gaillarde, died in the evening, yesterday Wednesday (November 5) in Paris from a serious form of malaria.

He was repatriated from Bangui to Paris on Tuesday morning (November 4) to the Begin military hospital. His name was revealed this morning by the Army General Staff, it is Master Corporal Moana Heiarii. This is the first death on mission (even if it was from illness) for the EUFOR RCA operation.
