Somali Coast Guard training in Djibouti

TrainingGuardsCoteSomaliens@Eunavfor141010(B2) The Somali Coast Guard and Port Police Force, currently undergoing training organized by the European Mission 'EUCAP Nestor' in Djibouti, had the opportunity to visit two vessels of the EU Naval Force, FGS Lübeck and FGS Berlin, which are participating in Operation EUNAVFOR Atalanta.

The Somali trainees, divided into two groups, attended briefings on both ships about their capabilities. The presentation was followed by a tour of the ships anda question-and-answer session where attendees could chat with experienced naval officers about their day-to-day work. Participants have " were very interested and asked many questions, particularly about replenishment at sea (RAS), the capabilities of the FGS Berlin and the boarding operations carried out by the FGS Lübeck during its deployment as part of the Naval Force of the 'EU' we stress at the mission. This visit is an integral part of a basic Coast Guard training course conducted in Djibouti by EUCAP Nestor.
