Condemnation for the disruptors of the Kosovo 2.0 demonstration

(BRUSSELS2) The case “ Kosovo 2.0 is undoubtedly emblematic that all is not rosy in Kosovo. Three people were sentenced by the Pristina Court of First Instance to a one-year prison term: Albert Kastrati (the only one to plead innocence), Gani Latifi, and Driton Dili. The facts date back to December 14, 2012, when the three individuals (and a few unknown acolytes) went to a party organized by the NGO Kosovo 2.0 for the "sex" edition of its magazine devoted to the rights of gays, trans and lesbians. (LGBT). Entering the "Red Room" of the Pristina Youth and Sports Center, the troublemakers have only one objective: to prevent the holding of this demonstration, they destroy part of the furniture and even attack a member of the NGO Kosovo 2.0!

The three defendants were each sentenced to six months' imprisonment on the charge of violating the equal status of residents of Kosovo, four months' imprisonment for preventing or obstructing a public meeting , and four months imprisonment for property damage. The offense of inciting racial, religious or ethnic discord or intolerance was withdrawn during the trial, as it was covered by the amnesty law.
