(B2) The United Nations Security Council has decided to authorize African Union Member States to extend until 31 October 2014 the deployment of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM). Decision taken, Tuesday (Nov 12), unanimously.

Resolution 2124 (2013) calls for an increase in the number of peacekeepers, from 17 to 731, effective from January 22.
