European policy

Too short a Melanchon

(in Strasbourg) Jean-Luc Mélanchon apparently does not yet know the habits and customs of the European Parliament very well, 4 years after his election. Wednesday in Strasbourg, he was caught like a beginner on speaking time. First he gets the wrong button for the microphone. 10 seconds wasted. Then it begins with a great history lesson on the prohibition of chemical weapons in international law. 50 seconds wasted. The chairman of the session holds out his hand to him, “Your question? ". The interested party does not care and continues. Too late. The speaking time of 1 minute is largely exceeded… The microphone cuts off. Annoyed, the leader of the left front can only see “afterwards I am asked why I am intervening”. For once !
