(BRUSSELS2) We are less than a year away from the European elections and less than 500 days from the transfer of power for the various EU posts (President of the Commission, High Representative, European Council, etc.) NATO (Secretary General).

The big maneuvers have started

Suffice to say that all European politicians have already marked this date in red and are thinking about it. Even if no one wants to admit it officially, the "big maneuvers" have therefore begun within the institutions. B2 has implemented a small survey module on the right column.

First poll

We are opening the first poll today devoted to the President of the European Commission. Major post. Not only will he be in charge of leading European policy and initiative over the next five years. But he also has the ability (formal or real) to give his opinion on the other Commissioner posts, including the High Representative (*). It should be remembered that the president is appointed according to a precise procedure: “ offers by the European Council, acting by qualified majority " but in " taking into account » of the results of the elections to Parliament, then « elected by this same European Parliament by an (absolute) majority of the members (which requires 376 voice for on 751 MEPs). There is therefore no direct vote by the President of the Commission or even an "automatic" link between the party that came out on top and the person appointed to the Commission. On your vote...
