The mandate of the head of EUPOL Afghanistan extended

Logo EUPOL_AFGHANISTAN(B2) The mandate of the head of the European mission to support the Afghan police (EUPOL Afghanistan), the Swede Karl Ake Roghe, was extended until December 31, 2014. The decision appeared in the Official Journal on June 12. A logical decision since the current mission has been extended until the end of 2014. The question now posed to European officials is post-2014 with the withdrawal of stabilization troops (ISAF) from NATO and the redefinition of the two international presences in the country: that of NATO as well as that of the EU.
