The SOMA agreement with Mali adopted by the European Union

(BRUSSELS2) The 27 decided on Monday (February 25) to sign the agreement between the European Union and Mali concerning the status of the European Union military mission (SOMA) intended to train the Malian armed forces (EUTM Mali ). It is the last “piece” of the legislative system allowing the deployment of the European mission. This type of agreement is quite classic in its content for this type of mission. It is normally mandatory before deployment. The personnel already deployed as “precursors” were until now covered by a tacit agreement from the President of the Malian Republic, attested in the letter sent just before Christmas. All the details have already been available for a few days as a preview to members/subscribers of the Club
