Cyprus offers nearly 2400 assault rifles to the Malian army

(BRUXELLES2, exclusive) The country is small but not helpless. The Republic of Cyprus should provide assault rifles to the Malian army. It is now confirmed. The offer was made in the EU working groups. The Cypriots will thus donate approximately 2400 Zastava 7.62mm, the Yugoslav-made Kalashnikov which equips the Cypriot army as well as the Malian army. It is one of the first contributions made directly to equip the new Malian army. This need for arms is one of those identified by the Armed Forces of Mali, which sent a list to the European Union and to the Member States. It was then validated by the French evaluation mission, according to our information.
