Military Olympiad in Cyprus

(B2) The Cyprus Presidency of the European Union is organizing an essay and question contest on the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) next week. The Olympiad, held in the seaside town of Paphos, will be held on October 3, 4 and 5. 48 cadets from different European military academies will meet during this final competition. 13 Member States will be represented for the occasion. A first phase will select the best dissertation on European defense before a final collective test of general questions on CSDP will decide the winner of the Olympiad. The aim is to introduce a European concept into their training and to ensure that these young officers become aware of the importance of the Common Security and Defense Policy, because "they are the future European officerswe are told within the organization. Bringing cultures closer together between soldiers, a gesture that is certainly useful. Note that the essays will be published in a book to be published at the end of the Olympiad.
