The satellite communications procurement cell, in orbit

(BRUXELLES2) The project for the joint purchase of military satellite links will be able to come into force. The fifth signature of the agreement allows this project carried out under cover of the European Defense Agency (EAD) to enter into force and to cross the threshold of the Initial Operational Capability (IOC). The five member countries of the project - Italy, France, Poland, Romania and the United Kingdom - will be able to form a strike force to purchase satellite slots from communication service providers, instead of buy separately. Satellite communications are an essential part of the battlefield today, whether for command and control (C2) or intelligence, surveillance, targeting and reconnaissance (ISTAR). And the “demand is increasing with the growing use of drones that require Satcom capabilities for control and transmission of sensor data ” we specify to the Agency.
