(BRUSSELS2) This is a new incident that occurred in northern Kosovo: Gate 31 - the border post near Zubin Potok - was attacked with grenades on Tuesday (19 June). Only one of the two grenades exploded, injuring the side of KFOR soldiers (NATO's stability force) in addition to material damage. The Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) immediately condemned these attacks, which were described as " cowardly and launched an investigation to find its authors. " Such an attack is an attack on the international community is mentioned.

This is not an isolated fact. In fact, other slippages are to be feared during the summer, in a sort of escalation of provocation, as several European and military sources have confirmed to B2. At a time when Eulex, like Kfor, is seeking to reduce their forces on the spot. On May 30, a EULEX vehicle was also attacked near Zubin Potok, in northern Kosovo. Again, such an attack was interpreted as an attack on the EU. The Europeans are also under fire from criticism in the local media. In an article of June 14, the Kosovo Sot attacked (European) Supreme Court judge Gerrit-Marc Sprenger, accusing him of unethical behavior and poor results. EULEX strongly condemned such allegations which " are an unacceptable attack on EULEX members ". " This article shows a complete lack of basic journalistic standards. (...) Any personal attack on judges will be considered by EULEX as an attack on the independence of the judiciary ».
