Decision on EUAVSEC mission in South Sudan delayed

(BRUSSELS2) The Council of Ministers of Justice finally failed to approve on Thursday (June 7) the launch of the mission to secure Juba airport in South Sudan (EUAVSEC South Sudan). This item should be on the Board's agenda as an A item (without discussion). But it had to be removed at the last moment. Several States have made parliamentary reservations. These reserves are purely « formal », it is estimated that the European diplomatic service (EEAS). " We expect no objections on substance » so I was told. But they are somewhat delaying the adoption of this decision, which should thus “appear on one of the next councils”, next week perhaps.
