A tear…

(BRUSSELS2) The non-re-election of Nicolas Sarkozy as President of the Republic signals the end of a period. With a small tear for the journalists (at least European) who had found in the tenant of the Elysée, an interesting interlocutor. Direct, not to say aggressive, Nicolas Sarkozy also knew how to give journalists who covered European summits something to feed their chronicles if not to feed their intellect. In addition to official press conferences, he did not hesitate to make informal points, in shirt sleeves. His direct comments on his colleagues, heads of government or behind the scenes of meetings, fed the articles... and the controversies. They also made it possible to better understand, on the spot, what was happening in the meeting room. What few heads of state or government did. And many of our foreign colleagues flocked to his press briefing. Because they were sure to get additional information.
