A Bulgarian diplomat is nearly kidnapped in Sana'a. The EU condemns

(B2) Boris Genadiev Borisov, the Bulgarian ambassador to Saan'a (Yemen) had a narrow escape. He was driving on Saturday on one of the main arteries of the Yemeni capital, when a 4X4 vehicle appeared and stopped in front of him. Several armed men tried to seize him and his wife. He refused to come out. And the men then fired at the vehicle. The ambassador was slightly injured in the eye, apparently by the window that shattered near him. Both were able to escape and take shelter in a nearby mall. Yemeni security forces intervened quickly. Following this incident, all Bulgarian embassies in the Middle East were put on alert.
