The Benelux countries seal a defense agreement

(BRUXELLES2) The Benelux "engine" - stalled for a while - seems to be on its way again, at least in terms of defence. The Defense Ministers of the three countries - the Belgian Pieter De Crem, the Dutchman Hans Hillen and the Luxembourger Jean-Marie Halsdorf - must, on the "margins" of the informal meeting of the Ministers of Defense of the European Union, sign this Wednesday at Val Duchesse, to ratify a "declaration of intent to cooperate" in terms of Defence. A rather short, very political statement, which constitutes, as an expert on the file, on the Belgian side, told me, a significant step: " we can't go back."
