The Godwin point reaches the European Commission

"Ukip", "populist"... the apostrophes burst out as soon as one dares not really to criticize the position of the Commission but only to wonder whether the policy of austerity and rigor, of lower wages is really the best there is today for some European countries. The European Commission becomes extremely touchy with criticism and appears on the defensive, to the point of quickly casting an anathema on what is simply journalism: asking a few questions, even if they seem disturbing or provocative to power. In a way, it is achieved by what can be called a renewed "Goldwin point" (*). A point she reaches quite quickly. I witnessed this recently, having asked for explanations on the Commission's "Greek" policy and on the risk of seeing Greece turn into the same state as Romania after the drastic regime of Ceaucescu, a spokesperson took the fly and did not hesitate to do so in an email communication, to provide me with some details on this subject (read: "The Commission admits to having no legal basis for the action to lower wages in Greece") to reply to me: “That's the talk of Farrage and UKIP. » !
