More than 8000 killed, including more than 500 children, in Syria

(BRUSSELS2) 8317 people, including 559 children, have been killed in Syria since the start of the violence a year ago in March 2011, according to the UN satellite office (UNSOSAT) which is releasing new data. Most of those killed are men (7499) and were killed in Homs (nearly 3000 people killed) and Hama (more than 1000 killed). These figures come from "public sources", however warns the international organization and " have not been verified in the field ».
