On the agenda of the Danish presidency, no informal Defense

(BRUSSELS2) This is a first. There will be no informal meeting of defense ministers during the Danish Presidency. It benefits from an opt-out in terms of defence. And despite the existence of a High Representative who normally manages the ministerial agenda, the presidency still remains in control of informal meetings. Only the formal meeting of Defense Ministers will therefore take place - which will take place according to the traditional format, on the same day as that of Foreign Ministers, April 23.

Foreign Affairs and European Council

The gymnich - the informal meeting of foreign ministers - will take place on 9 and 10 March in Copenhagen. While the formal Foreign Affairs meetings will take place in Brussels (or Luxembourg depending on the month): January 29, February 27, March 26, April 23, May 21 and June 25. As for the European Council meeting, three are already scheduled: 1 and 2 March, 25 May and 28 and 29 June. But several other meetings can be added by then. March 1 seems a long way off in an accelerated pace of budgetary and economic crisis, accentuated by market pressure.
