Departure of the frigate Lübeck for the Horn of Africa

(BRUSSELS2) The frigate "Lübeck" leaves on November 18 from its naval base of Wilhelmshaven in the direction of the Horn of Africa to join the anti-piracy force of the EU (Eunavfor Atalanta). Placed under the command of Captain Martin Ruchay, it should take about 14 days to cross the distance that separates Germany from Djibouti, where it will take over from the "Bayern" frigate. Remember that it is a German officer, Rear Admiral Thomas Jugel, who commands the European anti-piracy force in the area. He will hand over his duties in December to a Spanish officer.
