The new customs stamp in Kosovo approved

(B2) The direct dialogue between Serbs and Kosovars on September 2 led to an agreement on a delicate issue that had inflamed relations between the two regions in the summer, resulting in one death (a Kosovar policeman) and several injured in northern Kosovo. That of Customs stamps. We were close to an agreement at the last meeting on July 2. But the Serbs then refused to go any further. Finally on September 2, it was the mention "Kosovo Customs" which was accepted. This should allow the lifting of the mutual embargoes which mark the trade between Serbia and Kosovo. Another agreement reached: that on the cadastre. The two parties planned to establish a completely reliable cadastre, a necessary instrument for everyone to protect property rights. The next subjects for negotiation concern: telecommunications, energy and university degrees. Next meeting: in September.

(*) Begun in March, under the leadership of the European Union and the facilitator appointed by Lady Ashton, Robert Cooper, several meetings took place between Belgrade and Pristina, on 8-9 March, 28 March, 15 April, 17- May 18 and July 2.
