Two new Libyan companies appear on the 'banned' list

(BRUSSELS2) The ODAC (organisation for Development of Administrative centres) and the oil company Al-Sharara are the two new Libyan entities whose assets will be frozen. The decision has just been published in the OJ today, after adoption (by written procedure) by EU ambassadors. A decision made “in view of gravity? of the situation in Libya" - we specify on the side of the High Representative of the EU - because these two organizations act "on behalf of or according to the instructions of the Gaddafi regime" and are a source of financing for the regime.
In total, according to the European diplomatic service, 6 port authorities, 49 entities and 39 individuals implicated in the serious human rights violations perpetrated in Libya are now the subject of a freezing of their funds and financial resources in the European Union. And 39 people, including Muammar Gaddafi and several members of his family, are also banned from entering EU territory.
