(BRUSSELS2) General Younès, Chief of Staff of the Libyan rebellion (and former Gaddafi Interior Minister), was in Brussels today. During a meeting with the press, he essentially called for precision weapons. “ We have enough men, fighters, helicopter pilots. he explained. " What we need now are weapons to fight Gaddafi, heavy weapons, like anti-tank weapons, missiles, helicopters…”. The fight will still be difficult, according to him. Because Gaddafi is not going to leave like that. “ He will be killed or commit suicide » he added before leaving for the Atlantic Alliance where he met various NATO officials. Eminently discreet meetings.

The general also had meetings, just as discreet, on the European side. He thus met with the head of the diplomatic service, Pierre Vimont, as well as several experts from the region. This meeting should have taken place a few days ago. But it had to be postponed.

The opening of a liaison office in Benghazi is on the agenda at both NATO and the European Union. The Atlantic Alliance should discuss this subject at the beginning of May, in particular to specify the exact format of the system (level of representation, role, etc.) and the person who would be appointed.
