The EU crisis management structure (CPCC/CMPD) has new faces. It's confirmed

(BRUSSELS2) The High Representative of the EU confirmed for the readers of this blog, announced for the others, two new appointments to the diplomatic service, two appointments to two strategic positions for the European Common Security and Defense Policy (PeSDC) . The Belgian ambassador to the COPS, Walter Stevens, thus takes the head of the CMPD (Crisis Management and Planning Directorate). While the German ambassador, currently at the head of the EUMM Georgia operation, Hansjoerg Haber becomes the head of the CPCC (Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability), in short the command of civil crisis operations. Another appointment announced today is that of the Frenchman, Francois Rivasseau, currently deputy ambassador of France in Washington, as number 2 of the EU embassy in the United States (Washington).

« They are experienced and very talented diplomats. And I am certain that they will make a major contribution to our work in the years to come said Cathy Ashton.
