Czech Republic – "Thank you, we're leaving"

Nearly 4000 doctors have resigned from the public health service in the Czech Republic. This campaign, called "thank you, we're leaving", was launched by the unions to protest against the miserable wages in force in the country's public hospitals.

This radical movement had echoes. In some regions, the filing of the resignation of doctors means the loss of half the staff, in Prague, the capital, about 10%. The (right-wing) government, which had remained rather inactive, finally proposed an increase of 5 to 000 crowns (about 8000 to 200 euros) at the end of January.

Increase not substantial enough for doctors who prefer to work elsewhere, in Germany for example. The date for the departure of the doctors has been set for 1er March.
