13 pirates sentenced to 12 years in prison in Yemen

The specialized criminal court of Hadramout in Yemen sentenced, on Saturday, 13 Somali pirates to 12 years in prison for acts of piracy. They were arrested off the island of Socotra on May 26, 2010, according to the national news agency Saba. They had captured two Yemeni ships, the Dhafir and the Jawad, with the aim of using them as mother ships to attack foreign ships.
