9 pirates sentenced in Seychelles

9 Somali pirates were sentenced on Wednesday to 22 years in prison for the attack on a Seychelles fishing vessel, the Galate, and an Iranian dhow off the Seychelles in March (1). The pirates had boarded the two ships and taken the sailors hostage. They had been spotted by a plane from the European anti-piracy forces and then freed by an offensive action from the Topaz, the Seychelles coast guard vessel.
